Reach & Wash® System Crash Testing

Transporting Window Cleaning Systems containing up to 1000 litres of water, requires meticulous measures to ensure the safety of the driver and passengers should a road traffic accident occur. Ionic Systems have gone to extraordinary lengths to make sure that your safety isn’t compromised should you be unfortunate enough to be involved in a road traffic accident. We developed our systems so that they will stay firmly anchored to the vehicle in the event of a collision which has been achieved through our system crash testing program. Ionic Systems remain the ONLY supplier of waterfed pole equipment to be awarded the FMVSS-208 certification.

This week we received photographs from a Saudi Arabia customer showing the extensive damage sustained to a Window Cleaning van as the result of a rear impact while the vehicle was stationary. Thankfully no one was inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. Even with this extremely heavy impact, the Reach & Wash® System did not encroach into the van’s cabin area and remained firmly clamped to the vehicle’s floor.

This is testament to the safety of our systems, as a result of our extensive system crash testing program. Collisions like this reaffirm the fact that particular care should be taken when selecting your Window Cleaning System, and ensuring it’s completely safe when installed in your vehicle.
