"Cash is King" is a well known accountant's phrase
and for good reason - using cash gives flexibility
If you're in a position to pay for your machine and poles outright, then there are some useful discounts to be had.
For example, if you are an Ionic Loyalty Card holder, you will receive an instant 20% discount on any Ionic machines and poles.
If you're not yet a loyalty card holder, you can still benefit from promotions that Ionic offer from time to time, such as 15% discount on machines and poles that is currently available.
Ionic are currently offering 0% finance for systems and
poles, so how does it work?
You simply pay for your machine and/or poles in equal instalments over 1 or 2 years. The only extra you pay is a small title transfer fee (£10 or £25 depending on the amount financed) at the end of the agreement. There's no deposit or any other up-front charges.
There's also no upper limit on the amount financed either, so you could get any of Ionic's systems and poles.
However, this is an offer, and so cannot be used alongside Ionic's loyalty discount card or other offers, and it does not apply to Pure2o machines.
There are two main options usually used to finance
the purchase, 'lease rental' and 'hire purchase'.
The customer pays a deposit, usually equal to 10% of the package value, and then makes equal payments over 3,4 or 5 years. At the end of the term the machine (and van if that's been financed too) are normally transferred with just a small title transfer fee to pay, but various ownerships options are available.
With the lease option, all of the payments made are 100% tax deductible. There is no 'balloon payment' at the end.
Pure2o machines may also be financed this way.
You may have cash on hand with which
to finance your machine, and unlike
financing you won't have to make
monthly payments or pay interest.
Cash also gives you a high degree of flexibility, meaning you can take advantage of offers that may be available, without being restricted to certain products.
However, there are other factors to consider. Is tying up cash within assets the best use of it? Would that cash be better deployed for marketing, promotion etc? Will a large cash purchase result in pressure on your day-to-day cash flow?
For these, and other reasons, many customers still opt for financing even though they have cash in the bank.
You may, like most buyers, decide to
finance your system and possibly a
new vehicle over several years.
If you've decided to go for financing, there are several options available.
You could, for example, simply get a bank loan and pay for your equipment that way. The interest on that loan will be tax deductible, and it's worth comparing the rate you are charged by the bank against other options.
A new, 0% option is now available which is definitely worth considering if you are planning to finance over 1 or 2 years. There are, however, a few restrictions with this offer (such as not being able to use your 20% Ionic Loyalty Discount card) which may mean that standard lease financing is better. This will be especially true if you need to finance a new vehicle together with your system and any poles you need.
